Node-H Supports Broadcom’s Dual-Mode Small Cell SoC Family
Node-H GmbH, the leading supplier of small cells software technology, is making its LTE small cell software solution available for the Broadcom BCM617xx dual-mode small cell SoC family. The LTE solution can be combined with Node-H’s existing deployed HSPA+ solution for LTE/HSPA+ dual-mode cells.
Barcelona (PRWEB) February 26, 2013 – Node-H GmbH, the leading supplier of small cells software technology, has introduced an LTE small cells software solution for the Broadcom BCM617xx dual-mode small cell SoC family. The LTE solution can be combined with Node-H’s existing deployed HSPA+ solution for LTE/HSPA+ dual-mode cells. Broadcom’s new SoC series includes the BCM61730 for residential use, the BCM61750 for enterprise small cells and the BCM61760 for high-capacity metrocells.
The Node-H LTE software support high LTE data rates dependent on the chipset. The software scales from the residential use case to enterprise and public small cells. It covers issues such as Radio Resource Management, Self-Organizing Networks, Interference Management and Coordination, and connects to the Evolved Packet Core through the standardized S1 interface. The solution leverages the existing Node-H small cells technology to allow for rapid entry to trial and market deployment, both in LTE-only cells and in LTE/HSPA+ dual-mode cells.
The rapid uptake of LTE is evidenced by the number of LTE devices being deployed. This is the fastest ever deployment of a new generation of communications technology. Operators are rolling out LTE coverage using a wide-range of cellular infrastructure technologies, comprising traditional macro-cells, outdoor small cells, enterprise small cells and residential femtocells. This heterogeneous roll-out is necessary to deliver data efficiently to where is it used.
Node-H technology is available to be licensed by OEMs, ODMs or operators, and can be integrated with other technologies such as Enterprise Wifi solutions. The Node-H HSPA+ solution can run on Broadcom’s BCM616xx chipsets, including the new BCM61630 integrated RF and baseband SoC. The software runs on Broadcom’s reference hardware platform, and can be ported easily to run on customer platforms. The technology can be used for residential, enterprise or outdoor carrier-grade cells. The Node-H HSPA+ solution is deployed at leading worldwide carriers and it is tested with multiple network equipment eco-system vendors.
Demonstrations of Node-H femtocell features can be viewed at the Node-H website http://www.node-h.com/showcase.html.
